A Roma, sino a sabato 27 | h 16/20, presso lo STUDIO STEFANIA MISCETTI,
torna a Roma, dopo 22 anni dalla prima edizione la retrospettiva di film, cortometraggi e video dell’artista Yoko Ono. In mostra 14 lavori, prodotti negli anni 1966-1982, oltre a 3 lavori prodotti nel biennio 2012-2013. Yoko Ono, esponente di rilievo dell’arte concettuale, sin dagli anni Sessanta, ha fondato la sua ricerca sulla multidisciplinarietà, esprimendosi attraverso musica, scrittura, installazioni, pittura e disegno. Le opere in mostra, rivelano i molteplici aspetti di questa ricerca poliedrica: l’impegno sociale, le esperienze autobiografiche, l’attivismo politico, le performance musicali, il femminismo. Questa produzione filmica, pietra miliare del cinema d’avanguardia americano, si è sempre distinta per il radicalismo della sua matrice concettuale. Centrale è la presenza del corpo, in quanto oggetto della visione e portatore dello sguardo, in una tensione che l’artista crea al fine di rendere il fruitore un partecipante, attivo nel dialogo con le immagini e nella costruzione dell’opera.

Dans le cadre de l’exposition TALKING ABOUT A REVOLUTION – projection de VIDEO FOREVER 36 – RÉSISTANCES À LA MARGE – L’artiste, la solitude, la résistance. Avec des vidéos de Volkan ASLAN, Daniel BEERSTECHER, Ali Kazma, Luc MATTENBERGER, Alicia MERCY, Frank PERRIN, Guendalina SALINI, Khvay SAMNANG, Frank SMITH, Sarah TROUCHE, Tabita REZAIRE & Miguel Angel RIOS.

Toute création d’essence artistique est une « résistance » si l’on admet que créer, c’est changer l’ordre du monde. C’est parce que le monde n’est pas celui que nous attendons que nous y ajoutons une création de notre main. En cela, créer c’est résister au monde tel qu’il est, en le modifiant par l’apport de l’œuvre d’art. Il est bien entendu, ici, qu’on désigne une « résistance » qui est d’abord intime avant d’être sociale. L’œuvre d’art, ici, signe ma capacité à ne pas me laisser submerger par la réalité et, de concert, elle témoigne de la prise que je puis avoir sur cette dernière, dont, dans cette réalité générale, ma propre réalité.

Rome Independent Film Fest 17th edition

The 30th of June 2018 is the deadline for submitting works to participate to the 17th Edition of the RIFF (Roma Independent Film Festival) that will take place in Rome from 16th November to 23th November 2018.
This year as well, filmmakers from all over the world will have the possibility to present their original works. Giving particular attention to Indie productions.

The competing sections are 7:
Feature Films (Italian and International feature films, first or second time director)
Documentary Films (Italian and International documentaries)
Short Films (Italian and International)
International Student Films (for cinema students)
Animation
Screenplays & Subjects

The program of the RIFF 2018 will be enriched by retrospectives and seminars on different aspects of the Indie film industry. At the end of the Festival, the winners will be presented with RIFF Awards worth over 30.000 €.
