Dal 15 al 18 gennaio, la JULIA STOSCHEK COLLECTION e VENUS & APOLL di Düsseldorf, ospiteranno gli OTOLITH GROUP, uno dei più influenti gruppi di artisti della nostra epoca, con un programma di film, una mostra, un seminario per studenti e due talk con gli artisti. Oltre alla loro produzione di film sul filone essay, la pratica del gruppo segue un approccio interdisciplinare. Il programma si focalizzerà sui film d’essay che saranno proiettati ogni giorno dal 16 al 18 gennaio tra le 11  e le 18 al VENUS & APOLL. I film guardano al fallimento delle utopie sociali, alle visioni per il futuro così come ai correnti temi socio politici. Come parte del talk con gli artisti del 16 gennaio alle ore 20, il gruppo presenterà il suo ultimo video People to be Resembling (2012), un ritratto del Post – Free Jazz trio Codona.

From January 15 through 18, the JULIA STOSCHEK COLLECTION and VENUS & APOLL in Düsseldorf will be hosting the OTOLITH GROUP, one of the most influential artists’ groups of our time, with a film program, an exhibition, a seminar for students and two talks with the artists. Further to their production of essay-like films, the group’s creative practice is predominantly informed by an interdisciplinary approach. The Düsseldorf program will focus on THE OTOLITH GROUP’s essay films, which will be showing daily from January 16 through 18 between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. at VENUS & APOLL. The films look at failed social utopias, visions for the future as well as current socio-political topics. As part of the artists’ talk at VENUS & APOLL on January 16, 2013, at 8 p.m. the group will present their latest video essay People to be Resembling (2012), a portrait of the Post-Free Jazz trio Codona.
