The State of Image. In mostra a Berlino due pionieri della media art

L’ Akademie der Künste di Berlino ospita fino all’ 8 gennaio 2012 la mostra The State of Images, che presenta i lavori di due artisti considerati pioneri della media art: il polacco Zbigniew Rybczynski e l’ungherese Gábor Bódy . La mostra, organizzata e prodotta dal WRO Art Center, Akademie der Künste, dall‘Istituto di Cultura polacco a Berlino e dal C3 Center for Culture & Communication, fa incontrare per la prima volta i percorsi di due artisti.
Di differente formazione – Rybczynski è un pittore, disegnatore, designer e ingegnere. Bódy era invece un poeta, linguista, semiotico e drammaturgo - cio’ che accomuna i due artisti è l’aver intrapreso fin dall’inizio degli anni ’70, prima come registi sperimentali e poi nel video, una ricerca improntata sulle sfide poste dalla tecnologia dei nuovi media.
Attraverso i video, le animazioni, gli schizzi emerge il valore universale delle loro riflessioni e la qualità tecnica del loro lavoro creativo, che li ha portati a ricevere importanti riconoscimenti in tutto il mondo.

Akademie der Künste (Berlin) hosts until January 8, the exhibition titled The State of Images, that presents the works of the Media Pioneers Zbigniew Rybczynski (Poland) and Gábor Bódy (Hungary). The exhibition organized and developed by WRO Art Center (Wroclaw), Akademie der Künste (Berlin), Polish Institute in Berlin and C3 Center for Culture & Communication (Budapest), creates for the frist time an intersection between the path and the career of the two artists.
Despite the different artistic apparatus, – Rybczynski is a painter, illustrator, designer, and an engineer, Bódy was a poet, linguist, semiotician, and a dramatist – the two artists have in common their artistic enquiries in the early 1970s, immediately took on the challenges of the new media technologies, initially as experimental filmmakers and then in the field of video.
Presented videos, animations, drawings, calculations and wide-ranging reflections reveal the universalistic quality of their art that is utterly humane that have made them acclaimed at international level.
